<p>Salvadoran actor and comedian Julio Torres had his film-directing debut with the 2023 film, <em>Problemista</em>. After emigrating from El Salvador to New York 15 years ago, he got his big break as a writer on Saturday Night Live. In this interview, he speaks of his exceptional experience as an immigrant, the impossibility of making movies in El Salvador, his connection with his home country, his stellar co-star Tilda Swinton, and his stances leading up to the U.S. presidential election.</p>
