Ambassador Johnson: “I don’t doubt that Pegasus could have been used in El Salvador”

<p>Ronald Johnson, ambassador to El Salvador from 2019 to 2021, told the Senate March 13 that he demanded that Bukele not spy on U.S. officials. “I was not aware that they used Pegasus against anyone,” he said. “I don’t doubt that it could have happened, but I was not aware of it.”</p>
